Alexander, husband of Rosalind Elder was born in Glasgow, Scotland emigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1953. Served in the  R.E.M.E.'s in WWII in Italy, Belgium, France, Germany, and the Middle East .
 

The Scammell: Alex (to the right)  was a heavy recovery vehicle driver. They picked up damaged tanks, jeeps, and heavy artillery equipment and brought it to the workshops for repair. This was taken in Germany when he was 21.
